An epiphany struck me late last night. I now truly understand why Israel wants the Palestinian's to accept their right to exist. Allow me to elaborate.

Israel's right to exist is at the expense of Palestine's right to existence. Therefore, how can an occupying force, such an Israel, ask the very people it occupies, the Palestinians, to accept its right to exist, when, in doing so, would be accepting Israel's continued dispossession of their land and any chance of acquiring nationhood?

Would you, for example, allow a thief to rob you and, in the same breath, ask of you his right to continually rob you until you acquiesce to his ludicrous demand? Of course not. And would you allow such a routine to continue for 62 years? The same answer shall do.

The Ethnocracy of it all!

Israel’s decision to make all goyim wanting citizenship within its undefined and ever-expanding borders swear an oath of allegiance is one step closer to realising the return of the Kingdom of David. An Ethnocracy is a form of government where government officials of a particular ethnic group (Jews) hold a number of government posts disproportionately large to the percentage of the total population in order to advance their position at the detriment of others (Palestinians).

This definition defines Israel’s governmental system perfectly. As Israel sees it Zionist goal of reclaiming all of historic Palestine hindered by a demographic, “fifth-column” time-bomb which constitutes 20% of the population, it has pulled out all stops to further discriminate against the Bantustan-ghettoized Palestinian population. If anyone needed further clarification on Israel’s obvious supremacist legislation, one need only read from Haaretz commentator Gideon Levy: "Remember this day. It's the day Israel changes its character ... From now on, we will be living in a new, officially approved, ethnocratic, theocratic, nationalistic and racist country."

What is even more disturbing is this “pledge” requires applicants to swear an oath of allegiance to Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. A Jewish and democratic state? The fact that a government is ethnocratic negates any connection to democracy. And a law that forces an already discriminated ethnic group to pledge allegiance to a particular religion – Judaism – can only hold democracy in contempt. And remember, this oath is applicable to any non-Jew applying for naturalization not via the Law of Return.

The intended consequences? Sadly, the slow and painful death of Palestinian land, culture, identity and existence – in a homeland called Palestine. How can Israel ask a stateless people, whom they occupy, to say they have a right to exist when the Palestinians have no right to existence? Imagine a man stealing your car and saying, “I have a right to own and drive a car.” And you would say, “Yes you do, but not my car!” And the fact that Israel’s greatest benefactor has allowed this pillage, plunder and annexation to continue for 43 years defies belief. So get ready. The ethnocratic return of the Kingdom of David is coming.

This is not a conflict. It is an ongoing neo-colonial war that began in 1948, accelerated post 1967 and continues unabated today. And it’s cruellest outcome – apart from a well-hidden ethnic cleansing campaign financed and supported by Washington – is that the occupier is seen by many as the victim and the occupied the aggressor.

Hezbollah and Hamas - Genesis

I wonder which scenario is more believable: Hezbollah and Hamas are the defensive offspring of Israel’s Zionistic forty-one-year-old occupation? Or, a group of people whose agenda is to cause terrorism and bring about the destruction of Israel? Whichever way you look at it, the truth can always be found on the ground. In this case, Palestine. Or whatever is left of Palestine. So, in order to understand – and comprehend – from whence these two organisations came from, we must look at how they were conceived.

Sabra and Shatila. These two words either evoke condemnation or praise. Condemnation in the Arab-Muslim-humane world; praise from the sympathisers and apologists of Zionism. Which, frankly put, calls for the destruction of Palestine so that a supremacist state only for Jews can exist in a nation called Israel. And this ideal, conceived in 1879 by Theodor Herzl in the first Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, is sadly coming to fruition.

In 1982, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), headed by Ariel Sharon, orchestrated a crime against humanity in southern Lebanon. With IDF assistance and complicity, Lebanese Christian Phalangist militiamen entered the Sabra and Shatila Palestinian refugee camps, where they systematically butchered, castrated, raped and murdered men, woman and children. A refugee camp! And out of the burning ashes of Sabra and Shatila rose Hezbollah.

Would you expect anything less? If your town was murdered, raped and pillaged, would you not expect an organisation to band together to not only seek revenge but to prevent such a massacre from happening again? Or would it be more realistic to feel sympathy towards your murderers? To be almost apathetic in seeing your very people - brothers, sisters, mother and father - die before your eyes? I leave these simple questions to be answered not only by your mind but also with you heart. For they are the same questions the founding members of Hezbollah asked themselves in Southern Lebanon on that most despicable of days in 1982. They remain the same questions they ask themselves today.

Even though Hamas was formed in 1988, its roots can be traced to 1948. That year saw the displacement of a quarter million Palestinians from their homeland from which they would never return, despite countless UN resolutions opposed, violated and blocked by Israel and the US. The year before, with pressure from Britain and the US, the UN brokered a Partition plan, which amounted to Palestinian geo-political suicide. The Jews, who accounted for 7% of the population, were offered 55% of Palestine; while the Palestinians, who accounted for 93% of the population, were offered 45% - of their own land!

If your nation, city, town or village were given the same offer, by someone who had no right to offer your land away, would you accept it? A simple question often has a simple answer. The continuous loss of historical Palestine is illustrated in any atlas or map – for those willing enough to make a comparison between 1948, 1967 and today. Therefore, is it any surprise that a resistance group - whether its called Hamas or the Palestinian Liberation Army – did and do everything they can to end a now four-decade-old siege?

The word Hamas is an acronym for Zeal. 2000 years ago, the Romans laid waste to Jerusalem when the Jewish “zealots” wanted to end their “occupation”. The Romans called these zealots “terrorists” since they did not respect Roman presence or law. Sad how history can often repeat itself in such coincidental, yet ironic, circumstances. Do you think the Jews of Jerusalem 2000 years ago considered the zealot a terrorist? Do you think those same Jews had the same right to live in peace without Roman occupation? More importantly, did the zealots rise before or after Roman occupation? Again, simple questions beg simple answers.

It is unfortunate my conclusion states the obvious: that Hezbollah and Hamas were and are the direct responses to Israel’s neo-colonialist empire that began in 1948 and its continuing illegal occupation initiated in 1967. The fact such truisms are seldom heard, said or known speaks volumes of much of the media’s contempt for truth and obedience to its masters. However, as long as the US funds and supports the world’s second worst rogue state, itself being number one, there shall be no peace in the Middle East. Hezbollah and Hamas, whose sole purpose is to free their people from a tyrannical force - as did their Zealot counterparts in Rome - shall remain “terrorists” in the eyes of those who cannot see and in the ears of those who will not listen.

The lonely occupier

It is one thing to be occupied. Another to be occupied illegally. Physically. Economically. Politically. Geographically. Militarily. Despotically. Dictatorially. Mentally. Spiritually.

Like a man who rapes a woman and rapes her again when she fights back, Israel’s ethnic cleaning of the Palestinian entity has no bounds. For over six decades, Palestine has been ravaged by a man who wishes to live alone. A man who uses a past not his own to justify his future existence – at the expense of a woman whose only crime was to exist at all.

Her presence makes him ill. Her rebellion fuels his incessant assault and dispossession of her soul. Hence, rape becomes a just cause in pursuit of his ultimate goal – a world shaped in his own image. A world barren, desolate, just like him. A world he only occupies.

A Supremacist Reflection

What the Zionists of Israel committed against the Palestinians of Gaza starting on the 26th of December 2008 was – and is - tantamount to state-sponsored sanctioned murder. This fact will be hidden by the official rhetorical response by the supremacist Jewish state: “Israel is sick and tired of Katyusha rockets being launched at its citizens. Therefore it has every right to protect itself.” In essence, this is correct. However, the essence of this line does not reflect the “whole” truth.

Let’s return to 1948. With Zionist lies and propaganda aside, 750,000 Palestinians were unceremoniously executed, displaced and removed from their homeland they inhabited with Jews, Christians, and Druze for over 2000 years. Since Zionism was – and is – an eastern European Jewish nationalist idea, it has used in the past (Number 10 Downing Street), as it does today (Washington), the world’s superpower to justify further expanding its territories.

And what has stood in its way – ever since 1967 – has been the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. And what better way to “reclaim” a never truly claimed land was to provoke the Palestinians into ending an unworkable ceasefire to set the pretext for an all-out attack on Gaza. All this coupled with a 40-year-old illegal occupation.

And that is the problem, and solution, to the world’s most unnecessary and uncontroversial conflict. End the illegal occupation to end the conflict. End the conflict and you have only one possible outcome: peace. But this formula is anathema to the Zionist idea, since it would be an open admission of committing the ethnic cleansing of Palestine – in name, people and identity –since 1948.

So please do not fall into the proverbial trap of world condemnation against Israel as being in any way “ant-Semitic”. What most of the world seems to either not know – or blissfully ignore – is that all Arabs and Jews are Semites. So the fact that much of the world does its best to prolong the conflict is in itself the most blatant form of Anti-Semitism – against Jew and Arab.

So understanding why Israel unmercifully attacked Gaza on the 26th of December 2008 is a matter of historical reflection. For how can an illegal occupier justify murder against those it illegally occupies? How can an openly supremacist state be seen as a victim when it has kept a military, territorial and economical stranglehold on a people who have been asking for their own state since 1948? It simply defies comprehension. Sadly, Israel cannot afford peace. For peace would mean ending the Zionist dream, a dream the Palestinian people are not a part of.
